Summary:
The Process Technician will be a primary contributor to the SMT line, AXI and process engineering for PCB Assembly. This position will be responsible for all aspects of the printed circuit board assembly to ensure a high-quality product is delivered. A successful candidate will be a resourceful problem solver who is able to work around technical obstacles and implement practical solutions. The Process Technician is a core member of the Operations team and works with that team to realize world-class manufacturing systems and processes.
Job Responsibilities:
- 1st level of responder to support for PCBA production
- Contributes to the design and fabrication of stencils, tooling and fixtures.
- Inspect, validate, and sign off on the setup per First Article Setup (Printer, Reflow oven).
- Inspect the first board from the stencil printer. Check for solder release, solder bridges, process anomaly using SPI station.
- Inspect the first board out of the oven. Inspect two or three boards afterwards and sign off First Article report. Check for solderability, voids, and other visual defects in x-ray if needed.
- Provide training to operators regarding any new processes and/or deficiencies in the process.
- Support Production and answer Technical Inquiry from the production floor
- Provide training and support to manufacturing personnel to improve overall capabilities and knowledge
- Setup solder paste printer for production line
- Perform X-Ray inspection.
- Support all technical issues from SMT, AXI and Engineering
- Escalate to Supervisor when unable to resolve issues
- Manage tooling log, receive in and validate tooling
- Analyze data to identify and resolve systemic process and performance issues
- Willing to learn and take on other tasks as necessary
Job Requirement:
- 5+ years of experience in printed circuit board assembly
- Working knowledge of all aspects of the PCBA process, including:
- Hands-on experience of Screen Printer Programming
- Hands-on experience Solder Paste Inspection Programming
- Hands-on experience with X-Ray inspection
- Hands-on experience of Reflow Profiling
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and engineering instructions for assembling electronics units, applying knowledge of electronic theory and components
- Participate in and support all ISO related activities (Work Instruction, Audit, Training, etc.)
- Strong ability to troubleshoot and use analytical skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and be self-sufficient while managing multiple tasks
- Adaptability in a fast-paced environment with a focused execution of tasks
- Good computer software skills and aptitude to learn new software
- Attention to safety, quality, and performance
- Self-Starter with a sense of self-reliance and a sense of urgency
