The Fresh Cut Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the production of fresh-cut products, ensuring that all processes meet quality standards, operational goals, and safety requirements. This position involves supervising production staff, maintaining equipment, and working closely with other departments to ensure high efficiency and product consistency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Oversight: Supervise and coordinate daily operations on the production floor, ensuring that all fresh-cut products are produced according to specifications and schedules.
  • Team Management: Lead and motivate a team of production employees, providing guidance and support, and ensuring that staffing levels are adequate to meet production needs.
  • Quality Control: Monitor product quality and adherence to food safety standards. Ensure that the final products are of the highest quality and comply with regulatory and company standards.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in production processes, implement best practices, and strive for continuous improvement in operational efficiency, product quality, and cost reduction.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all employees follow safety guidelines, proper handling procedures, and food safety protocols. Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Oversee regular maintenance of production equipment, coordinate repairs, and ensure all machinery is functioning properly.
  • Training & Development: Provide training to new employees and continuous training to the existing workforce on new procedures, safety standards, and equipment operation.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in managing raw materials inventory and work with other departments to ensure proper stock levels are maintained to avoid production delays.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Prepare daily production reports, track downtime, and document any issues that arise during production. Communicate effectively with upper management regarding production status and concerns.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Business, or a related field .
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role, preferably in the food processing or fresh-cut industry.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Knowledge of food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, GMPs).
    • Ability to analyze production data and generate reports.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions:

This role requires working in a refrigerated environment with exposure to noise and machinery. Protective gear, such as gloves and hairnets, must be worn while on the production floor.
