Job Description:
Responsible for managing all phases of a large, charitable used goods store, including inventory management, pricing, customer relations, cash handling, staff supervision, volunteer recruitment, donation appeals, and public relations.
Job Duties:
- Manage store inventory to ensure adequate supplies and proper display.
- Set merchandise prices consistent with the program's values of charity, economy, and human dignity.
- Supervise staff and volunteers, including evaluations.
- Maintain respectful relations with customers and staff.
- Handle cash reconciliation, deposits, and financial records daily.
- Recommend policy, procedural, and operational improvements.
- Solicit clothing donations and volunteers through public appeals.
- Order supplies and promote the store within the community.
- Maintain confidentiality of agency and client information.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work effectively with socially, economically, or physically disadvantaged persons.
- Knowledge of clothing types, fabrics, and retail practices.
- Initiative, maturity, and flexibility.
- Physical ability to lift at least 40 lbs and use safety techniques.
