Job DetailsDescriptionThis role keeps drivers moving, freight delivered, and operations running smoothly. As a Dedicated Driver Manager supporting our customer Yamaha, you'll coordinate load planning, driver communication, and equipment utilization specific to their freight network. You'll be the go-to for your assigned fleet, ensuring high service levels while supporting driver performance and engagement.Location: Vonore, TN (onsite)Salary: $63,000.00 - $68,000+ (commensurate with experience)What You'll DoYou'll manage the day-to-day logistics and communication that keep your drivers on the road and Yamaha's expectations consistently met.
- Assign and plan freight to maximize driver and equipment usage
- Monitor DOT compliance and hours of service before dispatching
- Track high-security loads and enforce policy adherence
- Coordinate driver time off, home time, and scheduled maintenance
- Communicate frequently with drivers to support productivity and morale
- Respond to after-hours inquiries from drivers and Yamaha as needed
- Keep accurate records using TMW, Omnitracs, and related systems
- Manage payroll-related actions such as layovers, advances, and detention pay
- Collaborate with Safety, Payroll, and Maintenance on driver status updates
- Schedule safety meetings and ensure required training attendance
- Recommend driver performance actions including evaluations and discipline
What You'll BringYou bring operational awareness, attention to detail, and the ability to juggle shifting priorities in a customer-focused environment.
- 2+ years of transportation experience in a non-driving role
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and hours-of-service rules
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication, customer service, and time management skills
- Proficiency with Windows-based systems
Preferred
- 3+ years as a fleet manager or dispatcher
- Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
- Experience using TMW, Qualcomm, and Omnitracs
- Familiarity with compliance, controlled substance policies, and trip documentation

About The RoleThe salary grade for this position ranges from $59,350.20 - $77,122.65 per annum.
