Job Description - Executive Director: School Safety and Discipline(230 day calendar, 49% of full-time)Position PurposeUnder the general supervision of the Superintendent, the Executive Director of School Safety and Discipline is responsible for the oversight and planning of student safety and discipline measures, programs, and initiatives throughout the school district.Essential Functions - School Safety
- Provides training and creation of District safety planning
- Oversight, review, and evaluation of school safety plans
- Provide supervision and training for installation of Centegix
- Oversee and conduct staff training
- Oversee the physical installation
- Assignment and monitoring of staff cards
- Planning and communication for implementation of new platform
- Implementation of SchoolDog safety platform
- Monitor weekly reporting from schools in district
- Provide safety recommendations based on data collected
- School Resource Officer (SRO) Liaison
- Oversight on training and implementation of safety planning
- Communication with SROs
- Coordinate training with SROs
- Coordination with company for use of canine unit for drug/paraphernalia searches
Essential Functions - Student Discipline
- Conducts chronic discipline training, monitors chronic discipline measures in schools
- Oversight of waiver/due process hearing process
- Conducts Student Due Process Hearings (Tribunals)
- Staff training on tribunal process
- Oversight of student investigations
- Conducts preparations for hearings
- Collection and maintenance of school and district discipline data
- Root cause and implementation of solutions to problems as they present trends
- Safety walks and feedback to school leaders for adjustments
- Implementation of Board Policy and procedure for cell phone restrictions (Jan 2026)
- Develop District and school procedures for cell phone restrictions
- Supervision and oversight of Technology Department
- Supervision and oversight of school nursing program
Assumes Other Responsibilities As Specified By The Superintendent.EquipmentUses standard office equipment such as desktop and laptop computers, portable electronic devices, printer, copier and fax machines, and telephone.Travel RequirementsTravels to all school district buildings, city/state agencies, professional meetings as required.Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards
- Works in standard office and school buildings. Must be able to drive, sit, stand, and stoop.
- Must be able to carry up to 20 pounds often, and up to 40 pounds in some instances.

- Motor Vehicle operator's license;
- Ability and desire to work 49% of full-time;
- Documented previous success in educational environments (preferably in leadership positions);
- Successful administrative experience in designing and implementing effective programs and supervising, mentoring and training staff/personnel.
