Base pay range

$95,000.00/hr - $110,000.00/hr

Family Health Services is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides quality, affordable primary care, dental, and behavioral health services. Our “high touch, high tech” clinics offer unique patient focused care to anyone in the community, regardless of their ability to pay. We are rapidly growing in Sandusky, Ohio at our two locations as well as in Norwalk, Ohio and surrounding areas. We also offer behavioral health and primary care at several local schools in hopes of eliminating barriers to those needing services.As we continue to grow and expand, Family Health Services is looking for Behavioral Health Executive Director who will be responsible for the daily operations and management of a growing treatment service line. The Behavioral Health Executive Director will provide direct or indirect clinical supervision and/or administrative management to Psychiatric Med Providers, Mental Health Therapists, Case Managers, and support staff to ensure all facility functions are delivered in accordance with local, state and federal laws, best practices, Family Health Service's policies and procedures, and in compliance with HRSA requirements.Essential FunctionsSupervision, Training, Accountability

  • Plan and administer managerial, operational, fiscal, and reporting components of the organization regarding the Behavioral Health service line.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to those in Lead Supervisor positions utilizing clinical and administrative supervision, reviews, consultation, training and support to ensure patient care, compliance, program quality, and staff performance and retention.
  • Works with Quality Director, Associate Medical Director, Director of Finance, and Director of Human Resources to evaluate overall provider performance on a regular and ongoing basis; use collected data and information to make improvements or adjustments as needed to providers' caseloads and work assignments to maximize quality of care and staff productivity.
  • Ensure Lead Supervisors are conducting at least weekly supervision or staff meetings to ensure communication with their team is occurring to disseminate important information and identify potential barriers to patient care. Making sure Lead Supervisors are signing off documentation appropriately, providing appropriate feedback to staff and following through with other job duties as required.
  • Completes 30 day, 90 day, and annual evaluations of Lead Supervisors and/or any staff members within Behavioral Health service line. Obtains feedback from other service line staff to provide well rounded reviews and appropriate professional development goals.
  • Actively participate with hiring and orientation process of new staff members. Proactively identify, assess, and resolve performance issues with staff.
  • Conducts and organizes staff training and in-services for Psychiatric Med Providers, Mental Health Therapists, Case Managers, and staff within and outside of Behavioral Health service line to aid in the delivery of clinical excellence.
  • Participate in mental health community task force meetings, mental health community networks, professional development networks, and clinical professional associations to stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of staff and patients through the development and implementation of policies and procedures addressing health and safety standards.
  • Meets with inner agency staff from other service lines, community agencies, local community schools, etc. to help identify needed areas of service, provide information, obtain service line feedback, implement new contracts/services, make changes as needed, etc.
Clinical Duties
  • Completes behavioral health diagnostic assessments.
  • Provides psychotherapy for individuals who qualify for services on site.
  • Advocates and refers individuals to higher level of care or needing specialty services for a serious mental illness and/or substance abuse/addiction to other Family Health Service's programs or outside community agencies for treatment.
  • Provides crisis intervention services as appropriate, when needed.
  • Creates and maintains positive relationship with patients, their families, guardians, and agency representatives.
  • Networks with local social service agencies to remain knowledgeable about available services and the referral process for those services.
  • Frequent contact with staff of community agencies and the general public. Daily contact with agency staff. Must develop and maintain positive relationships with all of the above.
  • Keeps up to date on Behavioral Health billing information, implements needed changes, and ensure all billing providers adhere to changes.
  • Complete documentation and sign off of patient records in EMR within 72 hours.
  • Adheres to the standards and policies of the Organizational Privacy/Security and Compliance Programs, including the duty to comply with applicable laws and regulations (HIPAA, OSHA, OIG, guidelines, other State and Federal Laws). This also includes reporting to the Board of Directors, Compliance Officer, Privacy Officer, supervisor, suggestion box, and any suspected unethical, fraudulent, or unlawful acts of practices.
Required Education And Experience
  • Master's Degree in Social Science Administration or related field with licensure and credentials per the State of Ohio. Must also hold the Supervision credentials allowing supervision of others.
  • 10 years of experience in clinical or community mental health setting providing clinical services is preferred; at least 5 years of experience in leadership or administration is preferred for this role.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Able to provide detailed instructions and feedback; able to pay attention to details themselves.
  • Experience and be willing to provide presentations to small and large groups.
  • Strong clinical skills and up to date knowledge base of clinical care standards in the treatment of adults, children, and families.
  • Knowledge about local connections to community health care and social welfare resources.
  • Applicant must be organized and able to prioritize assignments. Must be able to do multi-tasking, problem-solving, and have decision-making skills. Must be able to handle personal conflict and deescalate situations with staff and patients.
  • Ability to work with a culturally diverse group of people.
  • Must be proficient in computer knowledge – Microsoft Office, Excel, etc. EMR experience a plus.
  • Good customer relationship skills and a strong work ethic. Applicant must possess independence and initiative as a self-starter.
