May be recognized expert in an area of focus of business in clinical applications.The Team Lead will work in multiple locations including UCSF Medical Center and Campus locations and Community Affiliate partner locations.Technical: Independently resolves and assists teammates in troubleshooting the most complex problems bothinternally and across integrated applications. Uses judgment and experience to offer solutions that arefuture-proofed against known upcoming changes, reduce overall system maintenance, and reinforcesustainability. Demonstrates ability to use advanced Chronicles and/or Clarity searches to identify the scopeand impact of changes. Creates comprehensive documentation and generates detailed notes on the scope andimpact of proposed changes.Project Management: Creates and manages shared documentation such as build trackers, meeting notes,testing scripts, and issues lists to drive projects to successful completion. Demonstrates ability to identify and manage the scope and impact of changes and to use negotiation tactics to resist scope creep and reduce meeting burden. Proposes standard work processes to reduce implementation hurdles and develops tools to communicate information and findings to customers and teammates. Manages project tasks, risks, and timelines and ensures that deliverables are measured against well-defined success metrics.People Management: Builds trust and establishes solid relationships with customers and peers throughexceptional communication. Leads meetings with peers, customers, and operations where prioritization isnegotiated and established. Escalates issues based on sound judgment and experience. Participates inboth internal and external workgroups to develop or refine policy, and promotes diversity, equity, andinclusion in the workplace. Mentors new and established employees and helps to develop soft skills likedealing with challenging people, handling politically frought situations, getting answers quickly, andescalating appropriately. Creates and uses systems to track work across teams and sub-teams.The Team Lead is dedicated to high-level and detailed analytical work and functions as the team lead and solutions-oriented resource for the Cupid team. The Team Lead works under the direction of the Manager/Director to coordinate and support the configuration and build of the applications that fall under the responsibilities of this team including both Epic (Apex) and non-Epic. The team lead may also plan and lead medium to large projects of broad scope and complexity.Partners with other application teams and clinical operations stakeholders to understand workflows and policies/procedures associated with the applications and workflows. In-depth and precise investigation and documentation of operational specifications and application functionality are required. Key technical activities include the analysis of new releases to determine how workflows should be modified, assigning work, and guiding analysts on the team to complete the build. Manages escalations from analysts and stakeholders. Successful candidates are skilled communicators who make decisions independently and in collaboration with others in both Health IT and operational teams. Leadership, organization, and collaboration are critical skills for this positionThe final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF.   • Bachelor's degree in health care information technology, computer science, or related area, and / or equivalent combination of experience / training.
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Current Epic Cupid certification or completed within 6 months of hire
  • Current Epic Radiant certification or completed within 6 months of hire
  • Broadly encompassing or highly In-depth knowledge of 1-2 areas of focus in clinical applications specialty area(s). Knowledge of operations, systems, and functions, including planning, design, development, implementation, user support and training, maintenance, quality assurance, and system testing and evaluation.
  • Ability to apply advanced problem-resolution skills to highly complex issues, quickly diagnose problems, and develop, test, and implement appropriate and effective solutions in a timely manner.
  • Advanced interpersonal communication skills to effectively train, support, and collaborate productively with clinical users and key stakeholders at all professional and technical levels. Able to verbally or in written form, convey highly technical information and instructions to all levels of clinical users and staff in a specific, clear, and concise manner.
  • Detail-oriented with advanced organizational and project management skills and the ability to lead a team, prioritize tasks, and see projects through from inception to completion on schedule.
  • Advanced analytical skills and expertise in documentation and reporting, with the ability to apply metrics, plan and implement testing systems, collect and analyze performance data, and produce substantive reports and analyses for management use.
  • Advanced ability to serve as a technical leader and information resource, and to work collaboratively with key personnel and management, providing guidance and recommendations on systems, improvements, upgrades, and industry advances and trends.
  • Available for 7X24 application support
Preferred Qualifications
  • Academic Medical Center experience
  • Additional certification in Epic application
License/Certification
  • Current Epic Cupid certification or completed within 6 months of hire
  • Current Epic Radiant certification or completed within 6 months of hire
