The Director, Compliance Business Partner is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and continuous enhancement of a robust compliance program within the company's Human Pharma business unit. This role serves as a strategic business partner, providing proactive guidance and practical solutions to support daily operations. The Director ensures the implementation of effective compliance controls, comprehensive training, monitoring programs, and drives timely remediation efforts to uphold regulatory standards. By offering risk-based insights, the Director advises leadership on achieving business objectives ethically and efficiently.

Collaboration is key—this role works closely with business partners and cross-functional teams within the Compliance & Integrity Department to foster a culture of integrity and continuous improvement.

The Director, Compliance Business Partner (CBP) provides strategic guidance and compliance oversight for business initiatives within the Cardio-Renal-Metabolic therapeutic area, focusing on Obesity and Liver Health. The role requires a proactive and collaborative leader who can build trusted relationships with senior leaders across Medicine and Commercial functions. The CBP will deliver solution-oriented compliance advice, ensure controls and training are in place, and support the product lifecycle—from proof of concept through post-launch. Success means being recognized as a valued partner in the Cardio-Renal-Metabolic area.

This role offers a flexible hybrid onsite schedule, working 2-3 days per week at our Ridgefield, CT headquarters, depending on business needs.

Compensation Data

The position offers a base salary typically between $170,000 and $269,000. It may be eligible for a role-specific variable or performance-based bonus and other compensation elements. For benefits details, click here.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provides compliance expertise and guidance to assigned business areas, including serving on senior leadership teams, providing proactive counsel on strategies and projects.
  • Reviews risks and deploys smart risk-taking strategies to balance risk and opportunity.
  • Leads development and management of compliance systems, policies, SOPs, and training for assigned areas.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert, ensuring compliance systems are tailored to operational realities while upholding standards.
  • Maintains an up-to-date understanding of external regulatory environments, including DOJ and OIG guidance.
  • May lead and develop a team of compliance professionals supporting the assigned areas.
  • Collaborates on risk assessment, training, auditing, and monitoring activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field; Master's or Law Degree highly preferred.
  • Minimum of ten years in compliance or legal roles, with significant leadership experience in U.S. pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences companies.
  • Strong compliance knowledge and understanding of government, market, health system, and payor dynamics.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and be accountable.
  • Experience working with relevant business groups and managing diverse teams.
  • Excellent communication skills across organizational levels.
