Position Overview

Virginia Tech's Division of Student Affairs is seeking an Arts Program Coordinator and Studio 72 Living Learning Community Program Director to join the Student Engagement and Campus Life team in Blacksburg, VA. This role involves supporting arts programming and the Living Learning Community (LLC) with over 100 student members, fostering an environment centered on arts, learning, and relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Studio 72 LLC and its members, promoting arts engagement and learning.
  • Coordinate arts programming across Virginia Tech's Blacksburg and Roanoke campuses.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in Living Learning Programs and report to the Arts Program Director.
  • Participate in professional development and growth opportunities within the department.
QualificationsRequired
  • Bachelor's degree in fine arts, art history, arts administration, arts education, or related field.
  • Understanding of diverse arts disciplines and ability to inspire and teach others.
  • Creative thinking, administrative experience, including supervision and budgeting.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to navigate conflicts and collaborate with diverse groups.
Preferred
  • Master of Fine Arts (MFA).
  • Experience managing or teaching art at any level.
  • Experience organizing events and basic art installation protocols.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary ranges from $45,000 to $49,000 annually, with a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, paid leave, retirement, tuition assistance, and discounts.

Additional Details
  • Full-time, 12-month, exempt position.
  • Work schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, with evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Requires background and driver's record check.
