The Welfare & Self-Reliance Manager is the single point of contact for Area and local leaders, providing awareness, training, and support, for Church resources and services, to help local leaders minister to those in need. This role works to build capability and capacity in local leaders and to create / facilitate partnerships with community resources. This position is located in the Omaha, Nebraska, area.
Principles of Operation : This role normally operates in a 'pull' relationship with local leaders. May be assigned as a Regional Manager when this role is used in an Area. Percentages may vary based on Area need
Consultation 30%
- Counsel with leaders on their needs and priorities, possible solutions within Church and community programs or services and follow-up
- First Tier support for all Welfare & Self-Reliance resources and services (Second Tier when division / area Specialists are not assigned in the region)
- Serve as the first contact for local leaders and community partners on urgent and preventative needs
- Primary contact point for Humanitarian requests from local leaders or community partners
Training 20%
Maintain general subject matter expertise on Welfare & Self-Reliance supported services and productsProvide general and specialized Welfare & Self-Reliance training to Stake Self-Reliance Committee and other leadersFacilitate new leader training on Welfare & Self-Reliance resources and servicesIntroduce digital training and resources to leaders and community partnersFollow a train the trainer modelLeader Support 20%
Discover and assist leaders to identify needsGather information, tools, and other resources to support needs that leaders have identified within approved policies and guidelinesShare resources and follow up with leadersResource Development 20%
General matter expertise on local market / emotional trendsBuild local relationships to meet the leader identified needs of membersBe the Tier 1 contact for local organizationsFocus and prioritize relationships based on leader identified needs for the following categories : Employment, Education, Emotional / Behavioral Heath, Community Resources / Relationships, Humanitarian, Commodities, Emergency Response and other Welfare & Self-Reliance services and productsTechnological solution to capture and shares resources that effectively reach those who are in needFollow up with leaders on effectiveness of resource sharedSupport of Area Initiatives 10%

Bachelor's Degree (Masters preferred) or equivalent work experience in business, sales, marketing or related discipline.Work Experience :
8 year minimum (prefer 10 years) of professional / operational experience including 4 years of direct management experience and demonstrated success working with upper level management.
