As a Construction Estimator, you will develop cost estimates from concept to bid submission; monitor and reconcile the cost estimate as the design progresses; participate in pre-award value engineering and constructability review discussions; develop a fair and reasonable cost recommendation; review and participate in negotiation of changes with the contractor; support development of 4D and 5D schedules; and prepare the record of negotiation documentation. You will work with internal staff and external clients to develop proposals and relationships leading to growth of estimating services.

What you will do:

• Develop detailed cost estimates from engineering drawings, proactively identify deficiencies and questions, and actively assist the project team throughout multiple phases of design completeness.
• Prepare dynamic construction quantity takeoffs detailing the materials required to complete a project for various design phases.
• Visit project sites to understand site conditions and restrictions.
• Collaborate with project management and engineering personnel during estimate development.

What you will bring:

• Experience in heavy civil and transportation construction, preferably with field experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• 2-12 years of related heavy civil construction estimating experience.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Proficiency in estimating tools such as HCSS HeavyBid, Excel, Bluebeam, or similar software.
• Experience working on large civil transportation projects.
• Self-starter with a strong work ethic and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Project scheduling experience.
