Summary

The Assistant Field Construction Manager supports the Field Construction Manager in overseeing on-site construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with plans and specifications. This role helps coordinate labor, materials, and equipment on-site, assists with schedule tracking, and ensures compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare weekly and monthly reports, and record minutes of site meetings.
• Monitor project schedule and document all activity.
• Ensure safety, environmental, and quality standards are maintained; provide updates during onsite meetings.
• Maintain and update the onsite Health & Safety, Environment, and Quality project binder.
• Review contractor invoices and schedules; provide feedback.
• Conduct weekly project progress meetings and request the contractor's two-week look-ahead schedule.
• Be present onsite whenever work is performed.
• Immediately notify Project Manager of any issues, problems, or public complaints.
• Coordinate material deliveries.
• Inspect ongoing work to ensure workmanship meets specifications, quality, and schedule.
• Minimize change orders.
• Review project documentation and suggest improvements for better constructability considering schedule, cost, and quality.
• Initiate transmission outage requests as needed.
• Coordinate with local and state authorities during project execution.
• Follow company policies, including CIP, FERC, and NERC requirements throughout the project.
• Support emergency storm restoration efforts as needed.
• Perform other tasks assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of experience in areas such as:

• First Aid/AED and OSHA 10/30 certifications are a plus.
• Must pass pre-employment drug and background screening.
