Summary
The Assistant Field Construction Manager supports the Field Construction Manager in overseeing on-site construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with plans and specifications. This role helps coordinate labor, materials, and equipment on-site, assists with schedule tracking, and ensures compliance with safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports, and record minutes of site meetings.
- Monitor project schedule and document all activity.
- Ensure safety, environmental, and quality standards are maintained; provide updates during onsite meetings.
- Maintain and update the onsite Health & Safety, Environment, and Quality project binder.
- Review contractor invoices and schedules; provide feedback.
- Conduct weekly project progress meetings and request the contractor's two-week look-ahead schedule.
- Be present onsite whenever work is performed.
- Immediately notify Project Manager of any issues, problems, or public complaints.
- Coordinate material deliveries.
- Inspect ongoing work to ensure workmanship meets specifications, quality, and schedule.
- Minimize change orders.
- Review project documentation and suggest improvements for better constructability considering schedule, cost, and quality.
- Initiate transmission outage requests as needed.
- Coordinate with local and state authorities during project execution.
- Follow company policies, including CIP, FERC, and NERC requirements throughout the project.
- Support emergency storm restoration efforts as needed.
- Perform other tasks assigned by management.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of experience in areas such as:
Construction ManagementElectrical equipment maintenance and testingRelay protection and control systemsElectrical start-up and commissioningElectrical field engineeringArc flash safety trainingElectrical troubleshootingSCADA and communication systems- First Aid/AED and OSHA 10/30 certifications are a plus.
- Must pass pre-employment drug and background screening.
