The new manufacturing facility in Webster, NY, is a state-of-the-art, 750,000 sq ft greenfield plant, expected to be operational in late 2025. It will support fairlife's growth, hiring 250 employees and processing approximately 5 million lbs of milk daily, with room to expand.

Job Purpose

The Processing Engineering and Reliability Manager oversees the reliability of processing and production equipment. They lead the site engineering team, driving process improvements, capital projects, and engineered solutions to enhance manufacturing. The role involves reducing top losses through detailed, analytical, and collaborative efforts, partnering with Operations, Maintenance, and Quality teams for technical guidance.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of engineers and technicians in a dynamic environment.
  • Serve as a technical expert in engineering, maintenance, equipment processes, and production.
  • Engineer and implement controls and strategies to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Lead reliability initiatives, including root cause and breakdown analysis.
  • Develop and deploy predictive maintenance technologies.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance on preventive programs.
  • Plan and execute capital projects with engineers and project managers.
  • Promote continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Assist with spare parts and inventory management.
  • Oversee documentation control.
  • Work with vendors to source critical components.
  • Provide technical support as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Positive, organized, collaborative professional.
    • Bachelor's in mechanical, chemical, or manufacturing engineering or equivalent experience.
    • 10+ years in engineering and manufacturing.
    • Proven leadership and team development skills.
    • Experience managing projects, including scope, budget, and planning.
    • Ability to solve complex technical issues using data and tools.
    • Hands-on experience with automated equipment (PLCs, instrumentation, actuators, valves, pumps, motors).
    • Capacity to develop technical personnel and drive growth.
    • Ability to interpret engineering schematics.
    • PLC programming, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks skills are a plus.
    • Experience with CMMS software.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
    • Food and Beverage industry experience.
    • Knowledge of USDA, State, Federal dairy manufacturing regulations is a plus.
    Working Conditions
    • Stand for extended periods, lift up to 40 lbs, climb ladders, work at heights of 75 feet.
    • Reaching and bending as needed.
    • Exposure to machinery and confined spaces.
    Food Safety
    • Report repairs affecting product quality or safety.
    • Comply with container handling policies.
    • Meet all food safety standards and regulations.
    • Identify and address food safety and quality issues.
    • Control nonconforming products until corrected.
    • Ensure coverage during absences.

    Location: Webster, NY

    Reports to: Director of Engineering

    Travel: Up to 50% first year, then 10%

    Type: Exempt

    Salary Range: $140,000—$150,000 USD
