Stress Engineer – Aerospace Structures (Boeing 777)

Tulsa, OK (100% Onsite)

Contract, Contract-to-Hire, or Direct Hire

Up to $90/hr DOE

Are you passionate about structural integrity, aerospace innovation, and contributing to one of the most iconic aircraft in the world? We're hiring a Stress Engineer to support development and certification work for the Boeing 777-8F/-9 program. This is a key role where your analysis will directly influence the performance, safety, and success of the aircraft.

  • Structural Analysis: Perform advanced stress analysis (linear/nonlinear) using FEM tools on primary structures of the Boeing 777-8F/-9.
  • Fatigue & Damage Tolerance: Conduct durability, fatigue, and damage tolerance analysis to meet certification standards.
  • Design Integration: Collaborate with design, systems, and materials teams to incorporate structural solutions into aircraft design.
  • Problem Solving: Investigate and resolve structural integrity issues, optimizing for performance and weight.
  • Certification Support: Work closely with FAA and other certifying bodies to ensure compliance.
  • Mentorship & Team Collaboration: Support junior engineers and engage with cross-functional stakeholders and suppliers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or higher in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related Engineering field.
  • 2+ years of experience with structural design principles (materials, fatigue, damage tolerance, corrosion, etc.).
  • 1+ years of experience analyzing metallic and/or composite aircraft structures.
  • Strong grasp of engineering fundamentals (free-body diagrams, loads, stress calculations).
  • Proficiency with FEM tools (e.g., NASTRAN/PATRAN, ABAQUS, or similar).
  • Must be able to work onsite in Tulsa, OK (no remote option).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Boeing-specific tools experience (FEADMS, CASTLE, FAMOSS, MOSS-DUBERG, IAS).
  • CAD & PDM tools: CATIA and ENOVIA.
  • Experience writing Stress Check Notes (SCNs) and engaging with certification agencies.
