This classification will oversee the daily operations and staff of the assigned recreation center.
Essential Functions
- Oversee and supervise the activities of subordinate staff and volunteers.
- Train employees in assigned areas of responsibility.
- Provide efficient customer service.
- Plan, develop, and maintain effective working relationships with personnel, officials, and the public.
- Interpret and enforce rules, regulations, police, and procedures.
- Plan and conduct in-service training programs.
- Perform CPR and administer first-aid as needed.
- Apply basic accounting principles.
- Maintain records on program activities, attendance, and other pertinent information.
- Manage fee collection, accounting activities, and program registration.
- Ensure proper documentation and accounting in accordance with policies.
- Assist with district special events as needed.
- Work collaboratively within a team to develop solutions to complex issues.
- Coordinate with other departments.
- Conduct inspections and ensure safety and maintenance of facilities.
- Research community interests to develop new programs or modify existing ones.
- Evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate or technical degree in health, physical education, recreation, or related field.
- Four years of experience in recreation or related field, including supervisory experience.
- CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Additional certifications depending on assignment area.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
Physical Requirements
Light physical effort, involving some lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of light objects. Tasks may involve extended periods at a workstation, with sensory and communication requirements. No exposure to adverse environmental conditions during essential functions.
