Headquartered in McLean, VA, By Light supports defense, civilian, and commercial IT customers worldwide.Position OverviewThe Solutions Architect will design, develop, and implement innovative IT solutions to support the mission-critical objectives of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). This role requires expertise in enterprise architecture, cloud technologies, and cybersecurity to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient systems that align with DoD standards and DISA's strategic goals. The Solutions Architect will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, program managers, and government stakeholders, to translate complex requirements into actionable technical designs.Required Experience/Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• 15+ years of experience in IT architecture, systems engineering, or solutions design.
• 10+ years of experience working with DoD or federal IT environments.
• Proven track record of designing and implementing complex IT solutions in cloud, on-premises, or hybrid environments.
• Expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, DoDAF).
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or DoD Cloud) and associated services (e.g., EC2, S3, Azure AD).
• Familiarity with network design, virtualization, and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with ITIL, DevSecOps, and agile methodologies.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Certifications (Preferred)Preferred Experience/Qualifications

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, or equivalent.
• CISSP, CISM, or other cybersecurity certifications.
• ITIL or TOGAF certification.

Special Requirements/Security Clearance

• Active DoD Secret clearance or higher required
• Willingness to travel up to 10% for DISA engagements, industry events, and partner meetings (primarily Fort Meade, D.C. metro, and Scott AFB).
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Salary RangeBased on the roles, responsibilities, and requirements, the projected pay range for this position is: $165,000 - $195,000.The annual base salary provided is a guideline for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. When extending an offer, By Light also considers other variables such as (but not limited to) work experience, education, training, skill set, internal peer equity, clearance level, and market conditions. In addition, By Light provides an extensive selection of benefits and offerings to our employees.Physical Demands
