Job Description :

The primary functions of the Facility Supervisor are to plan and supervise all custodial work as necessary, to ensure a clean, attractive, and safe facility. This position oversees the custodial operations at the facility and directly manages all custodial employees according to current labor conditions and needs. This position requires strong leadership skills; solid attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to work under pressure and be ecisive; and ability to motivate employees. The Facility Supervisor reports directly to the General Manager.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, and evaluate staff
  • Coordinate the duties of custodial and janitorial staff and performs cleaning tasks as assigned
  • Knowledge in operating principles and procedures including but not limited to the following systems:
  • HVAC
  • Security Alarm
  • Fire Alarm
  • Lighting
  • Firefighting Equipment
  • Responsible for preparing the facility for programs and events, as required
  • Knowledge of building cleaning methods, materials, and equipment
  • Budget and monitor custodial supplies and equipment
  • Manage inventory and order supplies as necessary
  • Keep accurate supplies and equipment records
  • Manage and reconcile supply invoices
  • Meet with supply vendors and make decisions about products
  • Inspect equipment and supply deliveries
  • Communicate with sales representatives and suppliers
  • Inspect and perform basic maintenance on equipment
  • Coordinate with other Field House managers as needed
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed, required, or assigned by the General Manager

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Manages custodial staff
  • Is responsible for the overall cleanliness of the facility
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the facility policies and applicable laws
  • Responsibilities include:
    • Interviewing, hiring, and training employees
    • Planning, assigning, and directing work
    • Appraising performance
    • Rewarding and disciplining employees
    • Addressing complaints and resolving problems

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience: Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.). Upon hire and training, the individual must be able to successfully utilize the facility guest registration software, Timeclock software and Project Management software.
