About the Role

Montecito Bank & Trust is seeking a full-time System Engineer to join the Technology department. You will be responsible for strategizing, developing, and operating the bank's IT server and application infrastructure, including building, securing, maintaining, provisioning, monitoring, and remediation processes. The role covers app servers, exchange servers, database servers, virtualization, endpoint management, backups, disaster recovery, identity management, and directory management within a Microsoft environment. Location is in Goleta, CA, with a hybrid work schedule possible.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5-8 years of experience in Microsoft system administration and engineering.
• Experience with security, backups, disaster recovery, identity and access management, endpoint security, and monitoring is preferred.
• Experience with web servers, app servers, database servers, endpoint deployment, automation, and Exchange servers is preferred.
• Microsoft Server certifications are preferred.
• Knowledge of hypervisor, Azure cloud, and DevOps is a plus.

Your Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to:

• Planning, designing, implementing, and configuring server, system, and application projects.
• Supporting vendors for support, upgrades, and incident response.
• Securing the environment through threat detection and response.
• Ensuring business continuity via backups and system resilience activities.
• Maintaining the server environment with regular patching and routines.
• Managing service requests, provisioning, and related questions.
• Managing AD, PKI, certificates, deployments, firewalls, scanning tools, and server upgrades.
• Monitoring performance, threats, and system events.
• Developing and maintaining policies, procedures, and documentation.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
