Founded by Amherst, the full-service real estate solutions platform, Amherst StudioBuilt homes is an innovative approach to home development that utilizes offsite construction to create new housing supply at scale without sacrificing quality. StudioBuilt homes are constructed at Amherst's housing studio in Cuero, Texas as well as partner studios across the Southeast and then installed on site. At full capacity, the Cuero facility will create over 250 manufacturing jobs, making Amherst the third largest employer in the area. The StudioBuilt team is comprised of experienced individuals from all trades, working to continuously improve the production process.

The Procurement Manager and team are responsible for implementing and maintaining supply chain systems and procedures to align with industry and StudioBuilt benchmarks in ensure long term results. The most important trait is the relentless passion for supply chain and ensuring that materials, trades, and system execution is of the highest quality and is on time, all the time.

Duties

Lead all aspects of supply chain and related strategies in all phases product development, manufacturing, and management of Scattered Site New Build business platform.

The leader of our supply chain will require a deep understanding of the constraints derived from design, cost, market volatility, and provide enthusiasm and curiosity around how to creatively mitigate those constraints.

The ideal candidate will embrace the Amherst ethos that housing is a product that will benefit greatly from focusing on resident needs driven design innovation. This entail finding the balance between how a home serves the residents needs, how the home affects the residents emotions and how the home delivers the best overall value to the resident, the capital providers, and the community. The supply chain will be vital in supporting our vision.

Areas of interest and expertise

Consumer products design, residential construction, real estate development, team leadership, procurement, building products, architecture, drafting, finance, accounting, commodities, and supply chain related technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage supply chain strategies to improve process efficiency, reduce costs, and increase performance.
  • Oversee the procurement process, from vendor selection to contract negotiation and ongoing vendor management.
  • Develop and manage offshore sourcing and strategies.
  • Implement and manage an effective inventory control system to maintain optimal stock levels, reduce wastage, and improve cash flow.
  • Lead the logistics and distribution teams to ensure timely and efficient delivery of finished goods to customers.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments, including Manufacturing, Product Development, and Finance, to align supply chain objectives with company goals.
  • Analyze supply chain data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on supply chain performance to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and other stakeholders.
  • Mentor and manage a high-performing supply chain team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management, preferably within the construction or modular manufacturing sectors.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of team development and performance management.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in supply chain management software and tools.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
