Position Summary:Oak River Rehab is seeking a creative, energetic, and compassionate Activities Director to lead and manage our life enrichment program. This full-time position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing a dynamic calendar of events and activities that promote physical, mental, and emotional wellness for our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a monthly activities calendar that includes group events, individual programming, and community outings
- Lead recreational and therapeutic activities such as arts & crafts, games, music, movement, social events, and educational programs
- Collaborate with nursing staff, social services, and dietary teams to support holistic resident care
- Supervise and train activity assistants and volunteers
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations related to activity programming
- Foster a fun, inclusive, and resident-centered environment
Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in recreation therapy, social work, or a related field preferred
- Certified Activity Director or eligibility to obtain certification (NCCAP or state equivalent)
- Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Ability to motivate and inspire residents of varying physical and cognitive abilities
- Creativity, compassion, and a positive attitude
