Under direct supervision, the Central Sterile Supply Technician performs a variety of work involving the decontamination, preparation, packaging, processing, sterilization, storage and distribution of medical devices, equipment, supplies, and instrumentation according to prescribed procedures and techniques. - High School Graduate or GED - Successful completion of Central Sterile Supply Program - For Incumbents: Complete ten (10) hours of continuing education credits in order to remain qualified to perform the functions of a Central Service Technician - Certification from the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) - Required Effective January 1, 2015 ?
