- $70/hr (1–4 years experience)
- $74.15/hr (5–9 years experience)
- $78.30/hr (10+ years experience)
Position Summary:
Amergis is seeking experienced Family Nurse Practitioners for a locum opportunity. This role focuses on delivering high-quality primary care to adult inmates in a secure, team-oriented environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive adult primary care services
- Conduct health assessments and physical exams
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions
- Prescribe medications independently (autonomous authority required)
- Collaborate with RNs, behavioral health therapists, psychologists, and physicians
- Educate patients on wellness, disease prevention, and treatment plans
- Document care using paper charting
Requirements:
- Active Virginia NP license (required; no exceptions)
- Minimum 3 years of NP experience for autonomous prescriptive authority
- Current DEA and BLS certifications
- Ability to work independently and manage a full patient caseload
- Correctional medicine experience preferred
