Chief Tax Officer

The VP, Global Head of Tax will lead the TIAA and subsidiaries Corporate Tax function developing and executing on strategic recommendations, ensuring timely compliance with US federal, state, and international tax reporting requirements, and oversee global enterprise tax examinations. Develop, implement, and manage tax planning actions and provide transactional and business expansion support. The Head of Tax will provide the Executive Committee, CFO, business partners, and Audit Committee of the Board with updates on the enterprise tax position and opportunities. This position will lead the Corporate Tax monitoring and advocacy on tax regulatory affairs and legislative developments. Leader will play an integral role in building transparent and objective-driven department goals that align to the enterprise strategic initiatives. Must demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment and serve as a resource and mentor to less experienced associates. Provide motivational leadership, foster professional development, and growth across the tax department.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Oversee all aspects of tax compliance and accounting for income tax reporting, including overseeing all tax examinations.
  • Establish Corporate Tax strategic road-map and lead plan execution.
  • Manage Corporate Tax department within established budget.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor tax professionals.
  • Establish and maintain TIAA and subsidiaries tax policies and standard operating procedures.

Base Pay Range

$237,000/yr - $402,000/yr Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
