The Hospital Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff within a Level One Trauma Center. Operating as part of a 60-person security department, officers ensure the protection of hospital assets, de-escalating volatile situations, and responding to security threats. Officers are equipped with pepper spray, Tasers, and defensive tactics training to handle high-risk incidents while prioritizing safety and professionalism. Duties and Responsibilities. Essential Functions: Patrols the buildings and premises to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and intrusion. Patrol parking lots to ensure the safety of individuals and the security of parked vehicles. Reports all suspicious activity, parking violations and abandoned vehicles. Responds to emergency situations such as accidents and injuries, fire alarms, crimes in progress and safety hazards.
