Building Inspector Hiring Range: $29.31-$32.91 per hour Full-Time, Non-Exempt ? Under the direction of the Building Official, the Building Inspector is responsible for administering and assuring compliance with international residential building (IBC) codes and for performing plan reviews, maintaining and updating file records and notes on buildings as they are constructed. Duties include, but not limited to: ? Conducts plan reviews prior to construction, ensuring proper materials, size, spans, loading, and bearings are calculated properly for the structural integrity of the building. Ensures that HVAC and MN energy code requirements are met. Reviews and monitors proper slope and grade from structure. ? Interprets IBC codes for community members, builders, and contractors to ensure compliance and understanding of codes to minimize error and eventual costs.
