The Patient Service Representative's main responsibility will be answering incoming calls for the providers. The PSR will ask pertinent questions of the patient and relay the information to the provider. The PSR will also handle scanning and rescheduling of patients. The chosen candidate must project a positive and professional image over the phone and in all interactions with patients and co-workers. Preferred Qualifications: Formal training which will probably be indicated by a high school diploma or equivalent; 1 or more years of experience working with the public, preferably in a healthcare setting. Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of medical terminology, knowledge of the different types of health insurance plans; i.e. HMO's, PPO's, etc., ability to recognize priority or emergency phone calls, ability to communicate effectively with patients, both on the telephone and in person, including patients who are angry or upset, ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-p...Patient, Representative, Medicine, Family, Service, Healthcare
