How Youll Help Transform Healthcare: Provides effective communications support to the Carilion Police Department and ancillary areas within the organization. Serves as a screening center for all calls for services and dispatches calls appropriately to the perspective departments and jurisdictions. Monitors numerous alarms including fire, panic, burglary and dispatches Carilion, City, or County agencies. Receives emergency and non-emergency calls for services, determines the nature, location, priority of the call and dispatches units accordingly. Maintains the status of units on assignments through a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) application and enters data for all calls into this application. Operates a variety of communications equipment and PC related applications to include paging, ID Badges and intercom systems. Operates a computer terminal for VCIN.
