A phlebotomist is a trained supportive person who obtains venous, finger; heel punctures blood specimens for clinical laboratory examination. This staff member performs order entry functions in the laboratory computer system, performs Drug Free Workplace and Post Accident collection and testing. They also process specimens which are drawn in the hospital as well as specimens received from our outpatient accounts.
