Job SummaryThe Utility Worker supports the overall cleanliness and sanitation of the food service operation. This role is responsible for maintaining dishwashing equipment, cleaning and sanitizing kitchen tools and areas, and ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.The Utility Worker also contributes to a positive environment by providing courteous service to patients, visitors, and staff.Key Responsibilities

Operate and maintain dishwashing machines

Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment

Clean assigned areas using approved germicidal detergents, equipment, and cleaning supplies

Sweep and mop floors in food service areas

Clean and disinfect trash bins and properly dispose of waste

Maintain cleanliness and organization of all food service areas

Follow all safety and sanitation protocols, including infection prevention and food safety guidelines

Exhibit a professional and cheerful demeanor while interacting with patients, visitors, and staff

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

Basic knowledge of sanitation and cleaning procedures

Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift

Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and safety in a food service environment

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in a hospital, healthcare, or institutional food service setting

Familiarity with infection control standards and food safety practices

Education: High School
