Collections Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Collections Specialist to join our dynamic team in a hybrid capacity. This role requires an individual who is proactive and skilled at managing collection efforts in a professional setting. You will collaborate with various departments and offer essential support to ensure efficient collection processes.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate closely with Billing Attorneys to facilitate collection initiatives.
  • Initiate client contact for payment collection as instructed by Billing Attorneys.
  • Review accounts receivable to identify and follow up on overdue invoices.
  • Coordinate with Billing Attorneys to provide collection support for aged invoices.
  • Send payment reminders and replicate invoices when necessary.
  • Draft and dispatch collection letters with the agreement of Billing Attorneys.
  • Execute accounts receivable write-offs upon approval.
  • Monitor e-billing platforms to assess invoice status and manage rejections efficiently.
  • Evaluate invoice deductions and develop procedures to reduce future occurrences.
  • Maintain detailed spreadsheets for aged and appealed items, including deadlines.
  • Work collaboratively with Partners, Chief Operating Officer, and various departments.
  • Handle ad hoc requests and participate in special projects as required.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in collections.
  • Experience in a law firm or professional services environment is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Aderant and e-billing platforms is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
