Location: New York, NY 10019

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift: (11:00 AM – 11:30 PM) Days: 3x12-hour shifts per week Every Other Weekend & Holiday Required

Pay rate : $53 - $ 55 per hour on W2

Job Summary: The Clinical Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse who delivers safe, high-quality, and compassionate care based on nursing theory, research, and evidence-based practice. The RN works in the Medical-Surgical Unit at Mount Sinai West and will collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure the best outcomes for patients.

Responsibilities:

Patient Care

• Deliver nursing care using the Relationship Centered Care model.
• Assess patient needs, apply critical thinking, and develop care plans.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams.
• Provide patient education and discharge planning.
• Conduct bedside shift reports, hourly rounding, and medication reviews.

Patient Experience

• Build therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Communicate effectively and empathetically.
• Address concerns and initiate service recovery when needed.

Quality & Safety

• Promote patient safety through best practices.
• Participate in quality improvement projects.
• Escalate safety concerns following hospital protocols.

Operations

• Act as charge nurse as needed.
• Ensure adequate staffing and resources.
• Maintain accurate documentation per regulatory standards.
• Facilitate patient flow throughout the shift.

Professional Development

• Support team learning and development.
• Maintain professional standards and ethics.
• Engage in shared governance and continuous education.

Requirements:

• License: Current NYS RN License
• Certifications: BLS (required)
• Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years RN experience
  • 2 years recent Med/Surg experience
  • 1 year travel nursing experience (preferred but not required)
• Systems: EPIC EMR experience (highly preferred)
• Education:
  • Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Accepted: Associate Degree in Nursing with relevant experience or active enrollment in a BSN program
