The Lab Assistant performs essential, non-technical support functions within the laboratory, ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of patient specimens. This role is vital to the smooth operation of our lab and directly supports our Medical Technologists and Technicians. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):Specimen Collection:Accurately collecting blood samples (phlebotomy) from patients of all ages, following established protocols and ensuring patient comfort and safety. Specimen Processing:Receiving, labeling, and preparing specimens for testing, including centrifugation and aliquoting. Data Entry:Accurately entering patient and specimen information into the Laboratory Information System (LIS). Equipment Maintenance:Performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting on laboratory equipment as directed. Inventory Management:Monitoring and stocking laboratory supplies, ensuring adequate levels are maintained.
