A well-established California workers' compensation defense firm is seeking experienced Workers' Compensation Defense Attorneys to join its growing statewide team. This position offers a fully remote work option with flexibility to work from one of 12 office locations across California, including Northern California, which is currently the top priority for hiring.
Attorneys must have 2+ years of dedicated workers' comp experience and be admitted to the California Bar. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who thrive in a collaborative, tech-forward, and growth-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent employers, insurance carriers, and TPAs in workers' compensation proceedings
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Attend hearings, depositions, and settlement conferences
- Develop case strategies, evaluate claims, and negotiate settlements
- Collaborate with legal assistants and support teams to streamline case handling
- Track billable hours with clarity and accuracy (40-hour weekly target)
- Maintain compliance with internal procedures and client service standards
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active member in good standing with the California State Bar
- 2+ years of workers' compensation defense experience (Required)
- Familiarity with EAMS and case management systems preferred
- Excellent legal writing, negotiation, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote or hybrid environment
- Strong client communication and file management capabilities
