We are seeking an experienced and strategic procurement leader to support a major organizational transition involving the separation of one of our business units from the parent company. This is a high-impact role requiring deep expertise in indirect sourcing, contract negotiation, operating model design, and procurement systems. The successful candidate will lead the contract separation exercise, design the future state of indirect procurement for the standalone business, and potentially transition into leading the function permanently.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Summarize findings and input key data points into a tracking chart or database.
  • Flag agreements that may require further legal or business escalation.
  • Support the execution phase by helping to coordinate Day 1 readiness, which may include assisting with agreement execution, contract assignment, vendor outreach, and sending formal notices.
  • Collaborate closely with legal counsel, sourcing and procurement, and business stakeholders as needed.

Required Skills:

Contract Separation Execution

o Oversee the strategic and operational separation of contracts and supplier relationships associated with the standalone business, working in close relationship with current sourcing leadership and legal team (inventory, analyze, execute and track).

o Identify and manage risks related to contract transitions and terminations.

o Collaborate closely with Legal, IT, Finance, and key business stakeholders to ensure smooth handoffs and compliance.

Strategic Sourcing Leadership

o Manage sourcing efforts across a range of indirect categories (e.g., IT, professional services, operations, facilities, etc.).

o Provide category expertise and sourcing strategy insights to ensure continuity and value post-separation.

o Support supplier negotiations and re-establishment of key agreements for the current and new standalone business.

o Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives and timelines.

o Provide leadership and mentorship to the sourcing team, ensuring continuity and knowledge transfer.

o Prepare the new business unit for full operational independence by May 1, 2026.

o Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on sourcing and procurement matters.

Operating Model & System Design

o Recommend and design a fit-for-purpose indirect procurement model for the new business unit (e.g., centralized vs. decentralized, governance, policy, staffing).

o Define process flows, technology enablers, and service delivery models to ensure scalability and efficiency.

o Partner with stakeholders to define and plan the future-state procurement systems landscape, including tools for intake, sourcing, contracting, and supplier management.Prior hands-on experience reviewing and summarizing complex, enterprise-wide commercial agreements (e.g., vendor contracts/MSAs, amendments and SOWs).

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing and procurement, with demonstrated leadership of indirect categories.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise agreements and vendor management.
  • Experience with M&A, divestitures, or contract separation projects is highly preferred.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive outcomes in complex organizational environments.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in designing and scaling procurement operations for newly formed entities is a plus.
