The Preconstruction Manager will lead front-end project planning in the life science, commercial, healthcare, and mission-critical sectors. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in technically complex environments, communicates with clarity and confidence, and knows how to turn client trust into long-term relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver conceptual and detailed estimates across multiple market sectors, oftentimes with minimal documentation or design input.
- Analyze sketches, narratives, and early-stage drawings to identify scope gaps, assess risk, and provide constructability insight.
- Leverage and maintain historical cost data and benchmarking tools to support early budget development.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and trade partners to align scope, schedule, and budget.
- Drive value engineering, schedule sequencing, and logistics planning during early project development.
- Present estimates and strategies to clients in a way that builds trust and wins work.
- Collaborate with project managers and field operations during hand-off to ensure alignment.
- Build and maintain relationships with local trade partners, especially those with past experience working with Eno Company.
- Partner with business development leadership to support pursuit strategies and client engagement.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of preconstruction, estimating, or project management experience in relevant markets.
- Proven success in developing estimates with little design detail or incomplete information.
- Strong understanding of MEP systems, site logistics, and sequencing in technical environments.
- Familiarity with North Carolina construction landscape, especially Raleigh-Durham and surrounding areas.
- Strong relationships with local trade partners and consultants desired; existing ties to Eno's network is a major plus.
- A self-starter with the ability to work independently, problem-solve quickly, and operate with urgency.
- Outstanding communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and create raving fans.
- Tech-savvy, estimating performed in Excel.
- Ideal candidate will have a business development mindset with the ability to understand client goals and help shape solutions.
