Responsibilities

  • Negotiating, reviewing, and preparing leases and other agreements
  • Determining title ownership and resolving issues
  • Reviewing, analyzing and supervising the set-up of new accounts and the closure of accounts
  • Conducting annual surface inspections of owned properties
  • Providing information to other departments in order to process income correctly and timely
  • Monitoring compliance with policy and procedures
  • Preparing Oil & Gas annual revenue forecasts
  • Developing and maintaining the Oil and Gas Department budget
  • Supervising the Oil and Gas Department to ensure employee development and maintain a culture of positive employee relations in order to build a high-performing team
  • Collaborating with Client Solutions and Marketing team members on oil and gas-related client
  • communication
  • Providing thought leadership content for various channels including speaking engagements, webinars, website, blog, etc.
  • Conducting presentations for existing clients and new business opportunities
  • Representing Oil & Gas in quarterly board meetings

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree
  • 10 years of relevant experience as a landman or related role in the oil/gas industry
  • AAPL-CPL (Certified Petroleum Landman) certification
  • Understanding of right-of-way agreements, seismic options, pooling, and unit agreements
  • Understanding of oil and gas law and trust title requirements and law, including various state oil requirements
  • Full understanding of industry nuances
  • Experience leading, supervising, and motivating a team
  • Extensive commercial acumen
  • Strong written and communication skills, presentation abilities, and a history of collaborating with internal and external partners

Note

  • This is a hybrid role (3 days in office, 2 days remote) after 6 months of service working from a Downtown Dallas office.
