We are seeking candidates for a Manufacturing Engineer role. Compensation for this direct hire opportunity ranges between $75,000-$90,000 annually, depending on skills and experience. Interested? What you will do as a Manufacturing Engineer:
- Identify, analyze, and implement process improvements to boost efficiency, reduce waste, and increase throughput across manufacturing lines, particularly in sheet metal and plastic injection molding operations
- Lead and facilitate Kaizen events focused on the factory floor to achieve measurable improvements in productivity, safety, and cost reduction
- Investigate manufacturing issues using root cause analysis tools (such as 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams), and develop effective corrective and preventive actions
- Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive work instructions, process maps, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and quality in manufacturing processes
- Evaluate and recommend new tooling, jigs, fixtures, and automation solutions for sheet metal and plastic components to streamline assembly and improve quality
- Monitor key process indicators, collect data on cycle time, scrap rates, and yields, and use statistical methods to assess performance and prioritize improvement opportunities
- Identify and implement cost-saving measures through process optimization, material selection, and waste elimination in manufacturing and assembly operations
What you need to be a Manufacturing Engineer:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field
- 3+ years of experience as a manufacturing engineer, process engineer, or similar role in a factory environment
- Demonstrated experience in sheet metal fabrication and plastic injection molding processes, including tool design, process setup, and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with light assembly operations and related best practices
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement tools
- Proficiency in CAD software (such as SolidWorks) and manufacturing process simulation tools
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and quality standards
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization
- Knowledge of relevant safety and environmental regulations in a manufacturing context
