Job Title: Project Manager

Reports to: Senior Project Manager

JOB SUMMARY

The Project Manager at Mefford Contracting is responsible for ensuring the successful completion of all construction projects by managing the schedule, budget, and safety standards. This role will focus on project coordination, communication with stakeholders, and maintaining a detailed understanding of project drawings and documentation. The PM will oversee project budgets, subcontracts, change orders, and be an essential part of the leadership team, helping manage day-to-date operations and ensure the smooth executing of projects.

Job Responsibilities

· Schedule Management: Develop, maintain, and update project schedules. Provide a three-week look ahead and ensure alignment with project milestones and deadlines.

· Budget Management: Oversee project budgets, update buyout and bust numbers, and ensure adherence to financial plans. Review and track cost codes and labor expenses.

· Safety Compliance: Ensure all safety protocols are followed on site and relay any safety issues immediately to leadership.

· Change Order Management: Reviewing and ensure change orders under $100K are appropriately documented and executed.

· Invoice and Receipt Coding: Code invoices and receipts accurately and ensure they align with project budgets. Review and approve time and materials (T&M) invoices.

· Labor Management: Keep track of labor's time and cost codes, ensuring accurate timekeeping and allocation.

· Site Coordination: Coordinate with site superintendents to ensure the proper flow of work.

· Communication: Develop and maintain positive relationships with owners, subcontractors, and internal teams. Attend and contribute to weekly sub meetings, owner meetings, and pre-checklist walks.

· Documentation Management: Keep daily logs updated, manage submittals and RFIs, and ensure that all project documentation is accurate and up to date.

· Sage Input: Enter daily project updates, subcontracts, change orders, budgets, and other project-related information into Sage software.

· Problem Resolution: Relay any project issues or delays immediately to leadership and work with them to find solutions.

· Collaboration: Coordinate and assist other Project Managers in reviewing change orders, subcontracts, and other necessary tasks as needed.

· Meetings: Attend one-on-one meetings with leadership, come prepared with updates and any necessary documentation, and contribute to strategic discussions on project progress.

Qualifications

· At least 3-5 years of experience in construction project management, with a strong understanding of the construction process.

· Proficiency in project management software, specifically Sage, and Microsoft Office Suite.

· Strong understanding of construction drawings, contracts, and budgeting.

· Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

· Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

· Knowledge of safety regulations and OSHA standards.
