Base pay range

$300,000.00/yr - $400,000.00/yr

Location: Hybrid to NYCEmployment Type: PermanentWe're hiring a seasoned leader to drive our application and cloud security strategy across all technology layers. This role will play a key part in shaping how security is embedded into our software development lifecycle and cloud operations, with a balance of technical leadership and strategic oversight. You'll report directly to the CISO and be accountable for designing, executing, and evolving security programs that align with our technology roadmap and compliance needs.You'll work in close partnership with development, product, cloud, and infrastructure teams to promote secure-by-design practices, reduce risk, and support innovation at scale. This role blends governance with hands-on support, offering guidance during key technical decisions, proactively managing vulnerabilities, and helping standardize security tooling across hybrid environments.You'll also contribute to broader architectural planning and security governance efforts while leading a skilled team of AppSec and CloudSec engineers. This position is ideal for a leader who can translate complex risks into actionable plans, foster collaboration across technical and business teams, and scale security in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.Core Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of cloud and application security initiatives in alignment with engineering goals and regulatory standards
• Collaborate with product and tech teams to integrate security from design to deployment
• Oversee threat modeling, code security reviews, risk assessments, and architectural best practices
• Build scalable, developer-friendly security controls using tools like IaC scanners, CSPM, and application security platforms
• Define security blueprints for services running in AWS, containers, microservices, and serverless infrastructure
• Participate in architectural reviews and security design forums
• Support audit and compliance efforts through documentation and technical advisory
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers focused on secure application development and cloud architecture
• Define key metrics for measuring security maturity, remediation progress, and risk posture

Your Background

• 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with deep focus in AppSec or cloud environments
• At least 5 years leading security teams or initiatives in tech-heavy organizations
• Strong familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, cloud-native services, and secure software practices
• Hands-on experience with tools like SAST, DAST, IaC scanning, CSPM, and secrets management
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence across engineering and executive teams
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; certifications like CISSP, CCSP, or AWS Security are a plus
