About the Company
The primary function of the Warehouse Manager is responsibility for overseeing a wide variety of warehouse activities and maintaining inventory and associated records for Clients. People management responsibilities include hiring, training, planning, assigning daily work, conducting performance appraisals, addressing performance issues, and resolving problems.
About the Role
Essential Job Duties include but not limited to:
- Direct, advise, coach, train, supervise, co-ordinate, and schedule the activities of the warehouse personnel with safety and efficiency as the priority
- Supervise and assist in daily warehouse and shipping areas including Filling and shipping client orders, satisfying internal shipping requirements (technical service, vendors, etc.)
- Ensuring accuracy of shipments and supporting documentation and verifies that correct information is entered into tracking system.
- Scheduling of inbound/outbound warehouse transportation
- Providing quotes to clients for warehouse rates
- Managing placement of inventory or temporary products and planning for special requirements for large emergency deliveries.
- Receiving incoming material and routing to appropriate area or personnel
- Ensuring inventory transactions are accurately logged and overseeing cycle counts and reconciliation activities.
- Make adjustments for frequent interruptions and changing priorities caused by rush orders, product availability, shipping delays
- Recommending measures to improve quality of service, increasing efficiency of department and work crew and equipment performance
- Measuring and reporting the effectiveness of the department activities
- Developing and maintaining departmental work instructions for all tasks
- Recruit, hire, fire, direct and discipline department personnel within the limits set by company policy
- Ensures personnel follow safety procedures and wear required PPE when necessary
- Getting members of a group to work together to accomplish tasks
- Allocate specific work activities to employees and other such as contractors or subcontractors
- Interpreting company policies to workers and enforcing safety regulations
- Provide leadership and staff direction to accomplish goals and arrange a process to complete and communicate goal information to warehouse staff
- Perform any other duties assigned by the General Manager.
Qualifications
Job Qualifications and Skills
- High school diploma, GED certificate, or evidence of similar skills, Associates degree or higher in business management preferred
- Minimal 3-5 years in warehouse environment with some of the time in a supervisory position
- Passing background screening for TSA requirements
- Knowledge of warehouse inventory systems
- TSA certified
- Familiarity with hazmat procedures
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, and maintained instruction.
- Ability to think and respond quickly and adjust schedules and operating plans in response to unforeseen needs
- Ability to make calculation such as discounts, freight estimates, dimensional weight
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in MSWord, Excel, Outlook
- Ability to work well in flexible, dynamic work environment
- Proactive and self-starting team player
- Punctuality and reliability
Physical Requirements
Revise as necessary
- Physical: Must be able to remain stationary 80% of the day
- Operates forklift 25% of the day
- Move around the warehouse facility to process inventory counts
- Repeated twisting at the torso while lifting and pulling inventory from shelves;
- Periodically moves or transports box items up to 40 pounds
- Ascend and descend a ladder to retrieve inventory
- Must not be functionally hearing impaired
- Must have 20/20 correctable vision and ability to distinguish the colors of company signage and labels
Mental: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. Must be able to communicate direction and ideas in a clear and concise manner.
Working Conditions
Warehouse conditions: some heat and cold, but not extreme. Moderate noise including forklift machine and agent truck engines.
