Job Summary:
UBS is the world's largest and the only truly global wealth manager, operating through four business divisions. They are seeking a DevOps/Cloud Site Reliability Engineer to deploy, monitor, and support applications in a Kubernetes environment, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure system stability and performance.
Responsibilities:
• Deploy, monitor, and support applications in a Kubernetes multi-tenant environment and promote the overall stability of the systems through system monitoring, proper change control management, and implementation of best practices to maintain production environment
• Support Gitlab Pipelines and Terraform to manage IaC across several Microsoft Azure resources/services
• Research opportunities for automation, troubleshooting issues as reported by users and implement migrations, upgrades, and patches in all environments
• Interact efficiently with the business and development teams at all levels and establish the root causes of application errors and escalating serious concerns
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems (Database, UNIX, Cloud, etc.) and provide occasional on-call or weekend support for critical activities during non-production hours
Qualifications:
Required:
• a bachelor's degree and ideally, 5+ years of work experience in an Information Technology field
• deep understanding of SRE Concepts, passionate about SRE transformation and excellent knowledge of Cloud architecture, especially MS Azure
• working knowledge of key Azure technologies like Virtual Machines, KeyVaults, Storage Accounts, Virtual Networks, and Hub Networks
• solid experience with LINUX containers & Kubernetes, with a good grasp of cloud networking protocols and proficient with DevOps Tools (GITLAB, Azure DevOps, Nexus) with all phases of modern DevOps pipelines
• experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and Ansible and strong knowledge in administering and restoring application services within a complex and secured banking environment
• practical experience in defining and building automation routines to improve the stability and quality of production service and familiarity with microservices architecture and experience in building RESTful Service
• excellent knowledge in programming languages such as Python, bash, and PowerShell and strong understanding of database platforms such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or Azure SQL
