As the Manager of Field Engineering, you will lead a group of three Field Engineering agents overseeing construction related activity. This oversight will include Refrigeration installation, EMS installation, troubleshooting and commissioning support. This position will interface directly with our CO2 startup team, with management of reporting, schedules and client interface residing with the Manager of Field Engineering. In the CBES Engineering / Construction business, this role is critical path ensuring completion project scope per design documents. This Manager of Field Engineering will interface with Refrigeration and EMS engineering on a frequent basis ensuring lessons learned are reflected on future designs. This collaboration with engineering will extend to interface with manufacturers, and outside designers.The qualified candidate for this position must be knowledgeable of supermarket RHVAC systems, system startup (including CO2 Booster systems), electrical infrastructure, and controls systems. Knowledge of RHVAC maintenance process, installation and commissioning required.Responsibilities

• Ability to travel up to 70% of the work week in Giant Food and Giant Co. territory.
• Primary point of contact for identifying and resolving communication related controls issues.
• Act as a technical resource lead for all level 2 Refrigeration and EMS issues. Maintenance and installation related.
• Evaluate and document existing RHVAC and EMS systems for integration into capital projects.
• Assess and record mechanical infrastructure, including compressor rack systems, air handling units, VFDs, relays, and control systems.
• Assist in resolution of issues remotely or on site as required to support level 1 service provider. This includes remedial repairs as identified while on-site. Delegation of repairs will be initiated by RBS direct with CBES.
• Maintain regular communication with all relevant CBES and client level parties relating to outstanding project issues.
• Support EMS (RHVAC) programming updates. Make changes and repairs as required to support on-site inspections.
• Provide detailed documentation and assessments of mechanical infrastructure, including custom-built and packaged air handling units, parallel compressor rack systems, CO2 booster systems, building automation systems, and electrical components such as VFDs, relays, contactors, and transformers.
• Comfortability with working in small spaces such as machine rooms and on equipment that is loud, dusty, and difficult to access

Training & Knowledge Transfer

• Deliver hands-on training to contractors and electricians on wiring, device setup, and system commissioning.
• Educate clients and internal teams on case controller terminations, communication box configurations, and EMS integration.

Project Management & Scheduling

• Track timelines and milestones for new store builds and remodels.
• Proactively identify and resolve potential project delays to maintain commissioning schedules.
• Other responsibilities as indicated by the Director of Specialized Field Services.

Required Education And Experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or applicable field experience.
• EPA 608 certification preferred
• D2 license preferred
• Minimum of 10-15 years' experience in the installation or maintenance of HVACR or controls systems
• Strong oral and written communication skills
