POSITION SUMMARY:The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, including monthly close, reconciliations, accounts payable, payroll, and reporting. This role requires hands-on experience with key accounting systems and a strong understanding of GAAP. The ideal candidate is a CPA with experience working in NetSuite, Bill.com, and Blackline, or similar accounting programs, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.This is a hybrid role based at Sampled's headquarters in Piscataway, NJ, with a required on-site presence 4 days per week. RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Own and execute the monthly close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Perform and oversee bank and balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Manage the accounts payable process, including invoice approval workflows, payment runs, and vendor inquiries via Bill.com
  • Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules and support asset capitalization policies
  • Oversee inventory accounting, including valuation, costing, and periodic inventory reconciliations
  • Ensure timely and accurate biweekly/monthly payroll accounting in coordination with HR and external payroll vendors
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial management reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Provide detailed support for the annual financial audits, including preparation of audit schedules and documentation
  • Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes, leveraging systems such as NetSuite and Blackline
  • Assist with implementation and integration of new financial systems and procedures
  • Maintain effective controls and enforce accounting policies and procedures in accordance with US GAAP.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive public & private accounting experience, including supervisory or team lead responsibilities.
  • Strong proficiency in NetSuite or similar ERP
  • Hands-on experience with Bill.com and Blackline or similar systems
  • Experience in Pharma or professional services sectors preferred
  • Additional experience with other accounting, payroll, or expense management software is a plus
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical thinking
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and working in a deadline driven environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently, setting own priorities and objectives with leadership support
  • Skilled at focusing on desired results, determining what is important and urgent, identifying next steps, and effectively meeting deadlines and achieving desired results.
  • Proven problem-solving skills including the ability to identify, recommend and implement solutions.
  • Ability to maintain highly confidential information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
