SEO Alternative Investments is an industry-wide program that provides education, exposure, training, and mentorship to help high-achieving professionals be competitive in the industry. Approximately 90% of SEO Alternatives Fellows secure full-time roles in the sector.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Manager, Events & Communications oversees all mass communications with candidates and manages logistics for all partner-facing events for the Investment Academy, the Alternative Investment Fellowship Program, and Credit Academy and ensures effective and optimal SEO's external presence. This role will drive candidate engagement through events, newsletters, and targeted outreach materials.
Candidate Communications
Create all weekly newsletters targeted at candidates to increase engagement, share relevant information such as open roles at partner firms and upcoming events.
Create weekly and ad-hoc newsletters for candidates based on interest in private equity, credit, and other alternative investment areas.
Create customized marketing materials for the Investment Academy, the Alternative Investment Fellowship Program, and Credit Academy Fellowship Program to increase the application pool.
Collaborate with internal teams to align messaging, branding, and program visibility across SEO.
Partner Events
Manage the execution of all virtual and in-person partner events across the Investment Academy, the Alternative Investment Fellowship Program, and Credit Academy Fellowship Program, which include:
Creating marketing materials.
Creating registration links.
Creating the resume books and Excel file to send to partner firms.
Sending follow up emails and texts to candidates to increase attendance.
Sending post-event feedback form to candidates.
Tracking event attendance rates.
Create social media posts for SEO and partner firms to post after events in order to help us increase SEO's and our partner's visibility.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Identify and create a database of ideal event venues for various types of in-person events.
Manage the process and execution for the rolling admission process.
Update external SEO website and any internal LMS/portal as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree required.
3+ years of experience in event planning, stakeholder communications, or external relations.
Proven experience managing communications and logistics at scale.

Project Management: An affinity for strategic planning with the ability to break down issues into component pieces, build project work plans, assume accountability for timelines, lead cross-functional working teams, evaluate data for continuous improvement, and navigate ambiguity along the way.
Relationship Management: Proven ability to build relationships, influence key partners and stakeholders from the SEO community, and produce outcomes through collaboration.
Experience working with DEI-centered organizations or programming preferred.
Practiced verbal and interpersonal communication skills; must be comfortable speaking to and engaging with a wide range of communities) and through different avenues, including in-person, email, messaging platforms, video chats/conferencing, and phone calls.
Technical proficiency in MS Office, GSuite, and standard workplace applications like Zoom and Box. Intermediate skills in Canva, Salesforce, and advanced Excel skills are strongly preferred.
Strong organizational skills and experience managing multiple competing priorities and meeting deadlines independently and as part of a larger team.
Exemplary attention to detail, copywriting, and proofing skills. Must be able to adopt SEO's brand guidelines and flex tone and style to match both medium and audience.
