Informatics Software Engineer
As an Informatics Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Abbott's diagnostic informatics solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze customer needs and translate them into functional software designs and deliverables.
- Develop high-performance, secure, and scalable applications using modern software engineering practices.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously improve and evolve informatics applications.
- Ensure all work complies with Abbott's Informatics Quality System and relevant regulatory standards.
- Plan, execute, and track project milestones, timelines, and deliverables.
- Support post-launch activities for on-market products.
- Participate in Scrum-based development teams and contribute to agile ceremonies.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, product owners, and R&D leadership regarding scope, risks, and budgets.
- Occasional travel may be required based on project needs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 13 years of progressive experience in software development, ideally within startups or mid-to-large corporations.
- Proficiency in Embarcadero Delphi and SQL (Oracle preferred).
- Strong foundation in object-oriented programming (OOP) and modern design patterns.
- Experience with unit, integration, and functional testing, Git, and agile development methodologies.
- Bonus skills include:
- Python development
- RESTful API design
- Cloud technologies (AWS preferred)
- Containerized applications
- Unix/Linux environments
- Mobile application development
- Distributed systems and security software
- Prior experience in healthcare or life sciences software development is a strong plus.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
