Job Description :

General Summary of the Position Supports optimizing production processes, troubleshooting operational issues, and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency. Helps design processes for natural gas processing industry, to meet specific applications for gas treating, dehydration, hydrocarbon liquid recovery and fractionation, and hydrocarbon condensate stabilization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (following are accountabilities included but not limited to):
  • Receives direction from more experienced engineers. Work is reviewed and learns from other team members. Work is reviewed prior to issue by experienced engineer/supervisor. Performs non-routine assignments of limited scope.
  • With guidance, performs tasks according to company and department procedures, and industry standards.
  • Develops cooperative working relationships and open communication within and across groups, to work towards solutions that benefit all involved parties. Seeks expertise, advice and perspectives from a variety of sources.
  • Works with senior team members to produce results. Consults with senior team members to receive direction for internal customers.
  • Performs basic calculations under the supervision of a more senior engineer.
  • Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the business
Skills and Abilities
  • Has sound foundation of understanding and ability to use technical knowledge. Seeks to expand knowledge. Examples can include but not limited to; reviews P&ID's and how to develop data sheets and from these documents. Completes heat/material balance calculations, PSV calculations.
  • Seeks challenging work. Expands knowledge through training and work experience.
  • With guidance, learns to use checking procedures and checklists to ensure a quality design. Performs tasks according to company procedures, industry codes and regulations.
  • Open to learning from anyone; Values those with practical and technical experience.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to work effectively in cross-functional teams. Presents ideas clearly and in a professional manner.
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
Education, Training and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field required.
  • 0-2 years' experience in oil and gas process design, preferably in natural gas processing industry, specifically in the areas of treating, dehydration, hydrocarbon liquid recovery and fractionation, and hydrocarbon condensate stabilization.
  • Fundamental knowledge in thermodynamics and fluid dynamics.
  • Proficiency in process simulation software such as Aspen HYSYS, ProMax, or UniSim.
  • Ability to learn and apply process simulations for design and specification of piping and equipment.
Work Context:
  • Travel domestically as needed to support projects (up to 10% of time)
  • Regularly works in the Corporate Office in Whitehouse but may be required to visit construction facilities or client locations as needed. At those locations, must be able to work in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and other particles.
