Lab Technician I

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Lab Technician I to support microbiological testing in a food safety contract laboratory. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals passionate about laboratory work and food safety. The technician will assist in preparing samples, conducting routine microbiological tests, and maintaining lab cleanliness and compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Receive and log food samples for microbiological analysis.
• Prepare samples for testing, including weighing, diluting, and plating.
• Perform basic microbiological procedures such as media preparation, pipetting, and incubation.
• Maintain accurate records of sample processing and test results.
• Clean and sterilize lab equipment and workspaces according to safety protocols.
• Monitor inventory and restock supplies as needed.
• Follow all laboratory safety guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in biology, microbiology, or a related field preferred.
• 02 years of laboratory experience, preferably in a microbiology or food testing environment.
• Comfortable standing for long periods of time while multitasking.
• Basic understanding of aseptic techniques and lab safety practices.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Additional Information:

• Work may involve standing for extended periods and handling biological materials.
• Flexible scheduling may be required, including evenings or weekends depending on sample volume.
• Training will be provided for all lab procedures and safety protocols.
