Position Highlights

What You'll Do
As a Respiratory Therapist at UPMC Cole, you'll play a vital role in supporting patients with cardiopulmonary conditions. Your responsibilities will include:
· Evaluating medical orders and interpreting clinical data to guide treatment
· Operating and adjusting ventilators, oxygen therapy systems, and aerosol delivery devices
· Monitoring patient responses and performing diagnostic tests
· Assisting with emergency situations and transporting ventilated patients
· Educating patients and mentoring students or new staff
· Maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring equipment safety

· You must be a graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program (approved by CoARC).
· OR if you're a student with a temporary license, you can start working with HR approval and official transcripts.
· You need to have Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification that includes both classroom and hands-on training.
· You must earn your Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRTT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)before your temporary permit expires.
· If you received your CRTT after July 1, 2002, you'll need to keep your certification up to date according to NBRC requirements.
*RRTs and CRTs will be considered. Applicants will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary based his/her individual experience, education, and certifications.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
