How You Will Make An Impact
- Develop and execute operational strategies across transportation, logistics, and warehousing.
- Provide executive oversight to departments across Washington and Alaska, with eventual expansion to military logistics units.
- Drive process improvement initiatives, turning around underperforming operations and building sustainable, scalable solutions.
- Build detailed business plans, forecasts, and performance reports using a data-driven approach.
- Represent the organization in client-facing engagements, including interactions with ocean freightliners and QBRs.
- Ensure safety compliance, operational consistency, and performance improvement across all terminals.
- Establish KPIs and reporting frameworks to optimize operational transparency and accountability.
Are You an Operations Leadership Rock Star?
- 10+ years of operations leadership experience in logistics, transportation, or maritime sectors.
- Deep expertise in the Jones Act – 10+ years preferred; this is mandatory.
- Significant experience in Alaska-based logistics is highly desirable.
- 5–7+ years in Director or VP-level leadership roles overseeing complex operations.
- Proven P&L ownership, strategic mindset, and executive presence.
- Hands-on experience improving messy or underperforming operations.
- Demonstrated ability to build business, not just manage it – must combine operations with commercial acumen.
- Strong command of forecasting, analytics, and business planning.
- Experience collaborating with and influencing ocean freightliners and transportation clients.
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.
- High emotional intelligence and no arrogance – this is essential for success.
- Must be communicative and receptive to direct feedback.
- Willingness to relocate or be based in the Seattle/Tacoma/Fife, WA area.
