Senior Estimator

Location: Fond du Lac, WI (On-site)

Position Summary:

A well-established commercial construction firm is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead and manage comprehensive estimating activities across diverse construction projects nationwide. This individual will play a key role in coordinating preconstruction efforts—from initial planning through project execution—by working closely with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and present detailed scope and cost estimates for construction projects.
  • Perform accurate quantity take-offs for labor, materials, and equipment from project plans and specifications.
  • Manage and maintain estimating templates, procedures, and presentation formats.
  • Oversee the Invitation to Bid process and maintain up-to-date subcontractor and supplier databases.
  • Analyze bid proposals, drawings, and specifications to define the full scope of work.
  • Collaborate with architects, owners, project managers, and trade partners to ensure alignment and clarity in estimates.
  • Evaluate subcontractor bids, material pricing, and ensure competitive and accurate cost projections.
  • Engage in value engineering and constructability reviews during pre-award stages.
  • Coordinate with project teams to account for equipment, logistics, and job site conditions in the estimate.
  • Support the setup of project budgets and schedules.
  • Track and reconcile estimates throughout project progression.
  • Provide support with project management duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent technical training and experience.
  • 8–10 years of experience in conceptual and design-build estimating.
  • Proficient in construction estimating software and systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills (including formulas and custom spreadsheet creation).
  • Strong understanding of construction means, methods, and cost principles.
  • Proficiency in blueprint reading; working knowledge of BIM is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to create structured and professional estimate presentations.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing company with a strong reputation in the construction industry. If you bring deep estimating experience and enjoy working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment—this role may be a great fit for you.
